Happy Birthday Anand! + The World’s Best SFF Shorts

TL;DR: Tell us about your favorite SFF short stories!

Hello backers,

This campaign is shaping up wonderfully, and it is all thanks to you.

We’re super close to another massive milestone of 1,000 backers! As soon as we hit that, we will be unlocking Chapter 5 of MAYA: Seed Takes Root. Once it drops, you can share the excerpt widely. Post it on Discord groups, add it to newsletters, or even share it on the r/scifi subreddit. The more people we reach, the stronger our community becomes.

Happy Birthday, Anand!

Big news. Anand will be at LA Comic Con today! He is looking forward to meeting backers in person and also celebrating his birthday - which is today!

I have been lucky to work with him for longer than I can remember, and I could not have wished for a better mentor, co-author, and friend.

I would love for all of us to put together a gift for Anand. Here is the idea:
Head over to the main comments section (not here in the update) and drop your favorite piece of short fiction in fantasy or sci-fi, and one line about why you like it. We will compile your picks into a special curated collection for him.

I’d also love to take this opportunity to share some of Anand’s earlier work with all of you!

- Ship of Theseus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuQYlgL73o0

This is Anand’s first feature film. On the 100th anniversary of films as a medium, the Critics' Circle, UK put together a list of 15 "life-changing” films. Ship of Theseus was the only film from the 21st century on that list!

PS - We put up the entire film for free on YouTube.

- Tumbbad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGIcZrUBY0k

This is the second feature film directed by Anand, which has become a massive cult classic in the years since its release.

- Right Here, Right Now and Continuum: Anand’s short films!

Hope you enjoy getting to know his work better!

And while you are at it, tell us: what stretch goals would you like to see next?

With gratitude,
Zain
