We’ve been reading every single message from those of you who have read it. It's a strange and wonderful thing to live in a new world for years, and then meet fellow wanderers inside. Your responses have moved us. We're deeply grateful the book is speaking to you the way it is. Thank you, truly.

The Audiobook: Hugo Returns on the 16th
Something unexpected happened in the final stretch of bringing this book to life. As we kept refining and adding the finishing touches, the novel kept growing. By the time we were done, nearly 18,000 words had been added. We're glad they were. The book is better for them. But it also means that we need to go back into the recording studio, because those words deserve Hugo Weaving’s signature voice just as much as every other word in this book.
Hugo’s dates are now locked. We record all the additional material with Hugo starting from the 16th of this month. After that comes the editing, the sound design, and all the careful work that makes itself invisible and immersive, and turns an audio recording into a world you can get lost in. The DRM-free audiobook will be with you by the 15th of May.
We couldn’t have hoped for a better narrator or a more fitting voice for the world of MAYA. experience it in full yourself.
The Physical Novel: Sculpting Quality
The last couple of months have been filled with us poring over endless paper samples, materials, mock ups, and prototypes. We’ve labored over every last millimeter and gram to ensure that you receive the highest possible production quality. An iceberg of obsession floats behind the scenes. The tip of it is visible below.
Manufacturing Is Finally Underway!
After nailing down every last detail, the novel has now begun manufacturing! The final prototypes that we made before entering the print run look beautiful. The final products that you receive will look even better. Take a look below!
When Will You Get This?
The manufacturing processes will wrap around mid-May. We will expedite the shipping so that your orders reach you as soon as possible. They should arrive in the third week of June.
We know that's later than we had originally hoped. The delay arose from us not being willing to let the book go until we were sure it was everything that it could be. We’ve gone over all the ideas, words, materials, paper, weight, finish, more times than we can count. Every choice was made slowly and deliberately. We hope that when this book reaches you, you'll feel that care in it.
